JAS-ANZ Accreditation

The Joint Accreditation System-Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) is the government-appointed body for Australia and New Zealand responsible for providing accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in the fields of certification and inspection.

Before a certifier can apply to a regulator to be a Recognised External Certification Scheme (RECS) they must have accreditation from JAS-ANZ. The JAS-ANZ website contains detailed information on requirements, as well as the application process . These details can be found here: http://www.jas-anz.com.au/

Once JAS-ANZ accreditation has been granted, the next step is to apply to a regulator to be a RECS under the legislation. Currently, only Queensland ESO is accepting applications. RECS declared by a participating jurisdiction is recognised by all participating jurisdictions.

JAS-ANZ and participating jurisdictions of the EESS have an agreement to work together on accreditation issues.
